ABOUT MICHAEL LIVESLEY

STAGE PERFORMANCE

Between 2009 and 2018, Michael toured nationally with his critically acclaimed one-man stage production of Vivian Stanshall’s Sir Henry at Rawlinson End. The production led to collaborations with Stephen Fry, Neil Innes, Danny Thompson and Rick Wakeman, and to Michael being asked by the late great Neil Innes to perform  as lead singer with the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band on their 50th anniversary tour and I Should Koko album. He later recorded an album version of the show with Rick Wakeman and Neil Innes, and co-wrote and produced the album Parrotopia with Bonzos member Rodney “Rhino” Slater as Rodney Slater's Parrots.

VOICE & BROADCAST

Michael works across commercial voiceover, narration, documentary, character performance and live presentation. He is widely recognised commercially as the voice of “Grub” for Tombola’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! sponsorship campaign, a role he performed for seven years. His performance work spans broadcast, digital media and live events.

PRODUCTION & DIRECTING

Alongside performance, Michael works as a producer and director across audio and film. In 2024 he co-hosted a BFI event with Samira Ahmed to launch the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band’s Still Barking box set, featuring the premiere of his short film Unboxing Day. He is currently completing a documentary on filmmaker Lawrence Moore; A Reflection and producing a major archival Vivian Stanshall project including a new documentary.

MUSIC & COMPOSITION

Michael composes music and sound design for podcasts and media productions, including original scoring for Sophie Aldred’s Ace Odyssey and The Tony Slattery Rambling Club. His production credits include 2 chart-topping releases from the Vivian Stanshall archive and a major archival box-set project scheduled for release in 2027.
